Atamaniuk Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Louise Foley BELLOWS FALLS Louise E. Foley, 69, of Hall Bridge Road, died at her home on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002. She was born in Manhattan, N.Y., a daughter of Vincenz and Rosa (Keissler) Zoller.
Mrs. Foley was a graduate of the St. Luke's in the Bronx, N.Y., and worked prior to her marriage for Bell Telephone as a telephone operator. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and had a great interest in animals and the humane society. On Oct.
11, 1951, at St. Luke's in the Bronx, she married Kenneth Foley. She is survived by her husband of Bellows Falls; one son, Vincent Foley of Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter, Patricia Zubini of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; one sister, Hilda Pfaffenberger of Pelham, N.Y.; and two grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at the Fenton Hennessey Funeral Home, Bellows Falls.

14, 2002, at the Poet Seat Nursing Home in Greenfield. She was born in Wilmington, on June 15, 1921, a daughter of Robert and Inez (Streeter) Ware. She attended Gill schools, and was a graduate of Greenfield High School. On May 9, 1943, she married William C. Huber in Wichita Falls, Texas, while he was serving in the U.S.
Air Force. She worked for many years in the emergency room at the then Franklin County Public Hospital, then worked for Dr. Percy Wadman in the office and Dr. McGinn. She worked for several years in the cafeteria at the Gill Elementary School.
She was an accomplished seamstress and early in life served as seamstress for Mount Hermon School. She was a former Girl Scout and Brownie leader in Gill. She was a member of the Board of Organized Workers at the Franklin Medical Center. She was a member of the Thomas Memorial and Oak Ridge golf clubs. She enjoyed roller skating, ice skating, ballroom dancing, traveling and golfing.
With her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Karen Woodbury of Raymond, Maine, Gloria Wehner of Spofford, N.H., and Gail Malcolm Ware of Ocala, one sister, Barbara Bassler of Brattleboro, eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Nash, 85, died Friday evening Sept. 13, 2002, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington where she had resided the past two years. Born in Arlington, on June 23, 1917, she was a daughter of George and Emma (Peterson) Nash.
She attended Boston University where she obtained her degree in social work. Miss Nash had served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant. She was the first woman in Lexington to volunteer for the Marine Corps during World War II, and was proud of her Marine Corps background. She had practiced in her chosen field of social work in Maine, California and in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
She enjoyed traveling, with some of her most notable trips being to the states of Hawaii and Alaska. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Osborne of Ogunquit, Maine, and Lake Worth, three nieces, including Jennifer Fitzgerald of Wilmington; and two nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, George Henry Nash, and a sister, Klare O'Connell. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m.

Braitlebero will be published in Tuesday's Reformer. Atamaniuk Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Edward Sullivan Edward Sullivan SPOFFORD, N.H. Edward Sullivan, 77, of Atherton Hill Road in Spofford, died unexpectedly Friday evening, Sept. 13, 2002, at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene.
Mr. Sullivan was born in Manchester on Feb. 15, 1925, the son of John and Anna (Czec) Sullivan. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Force.
He studied journalism at New York University and philosophy at the New School for Social Research. Mr. Sullivan began his writing career as a reporter and feature writer for The Jersey Journal, Jersey City, and as a copy writer for New York advertising and public relations agencies. As writer -photographer, he worked for relief agencies in the Middle East, Africa and India. In 1968, he and his wife, writer.
Pat Haley, were based in Jerusalem and lived in an Arab village on the West Bank. His work appeared in Newsweek, Business Week, The Christian Science Monitor, McCall's, Sports Illustrated and other journals in Europe and America. In retirement, he continued to write daily, chiefly humor. Mr. Sullivan is remembered as an actor in regional theater.
Drafted by the late Eric Kromphold for a Keene Lions Club production of "My Fair Lady," he went on to study acting under Arthur Lithgow at the Brattleboro Center for the Performing Arts and under Paul Nelsen at Marlboro College. Lead roles included Willy Loman in "Death of a Salesman," Vladimir in "Waiting for Godot," and an award-winning Sade in Keene State College's He also appeared in summer productions of the Peterborough Players. He had lived in Spofford since 1964. An active environmentalist, he converted growth woodland to a tree farm and developed a special interest in forest aesthetics. In 1974, he was given a Department of Agriculture award for his silvicultural work among several landowners.
Mr. Sullivan was a student of Zen meditation for many years. He was also a member of the American Civil Liberties Union and its New Hampshire affiliate. Besides Ms. Haley, he is survived by a former wife, Nancy Durante Sullivan of Jersey City; four sons, Dana, Peter, Martin and Andrew; three daughters, Miriam Morris, Christine and Nancy Sullivan; and eight grandchildren.
There are no calling hours. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. More than two dozen authors and illustrators will be featured in a variety of events beginning Friday evening and continuing throughout the day Saturday and Sunday. Readings, panel discussions, demonstrations, talks and special events hosted in a half dozen venues are designed to appeal to young and old. As part of the festival, the work of Howard Frank Mosher has been chosen for the first Brattleboro town-wide book discussion. Area residents are invited to select one of Mosher's books to read over the next several weeks, then to take part in a discussion with Howard Mosher on Sunday, Oct. 6, at the New England Youth Theatre from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Mosher is the Northeast Kingdom's William Faulkner. He has won several awards for his writing, including the 1991 New England Book Award and the American Academy of Arts and Letters Literature Award. 9 construction continues Road construction is progressing on the Wilmington-Searsburg Route 9 project with grubbing, stumping and erosion control. Excavation is being done in several locations. The pouring of concrete will continue at the Morse wall. The drilling and blasting of ledge will continue at several locations of the project. There will be signals and signs to identify where blasting will occur.
The work schedule for the week of Sept. 16 will be Monday through Thursday 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. One-lane traffic can be expected throughout the project.
Meanwhile, Lane Construction has completed paving the base course on Route 9 between Marlboro and Brattleboro. Lane Construction will start immediately paving the binder course beginning in Brattleboro moving west into Marlboro. Guardrails are currently being installed in various locations along this section of Route 9. Hours of operation will continue from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m.

man cited for DUI STRATTON The Windham County Sheriff's Department arrested a New York man for drunken driving Wednesday. At approximately 9:12 p.m., Windham County Sheriff's Deputy J.R. Sinon arrested Charles Krieg, 65, at the Stratton Mountain Resort, according to reports. Krieg's blood alcohol content was found to be almost three times the legal limit, reports state. He was lodged at the Southeast Correctional Facility in Windsor for lack of $500 bail.
Man held on warrants SPRINGFIELD State police arrested a man with two outstanding warrants who was driving a stolen vehicle Tuesday. Checking a vehicle in the northbound rest area of I-91 in Springfield, troopers learned that it had been reported stolen in Mississippi. The driver, Chad M. Lawrence, 27, of Hardwick, was then arrested for possession stolen property, driving with a suspended license, and providing false information, police stated. Man cited for pot SPRINGFIELD State police cited a New Hampshire man for marijuana possession Wednesday. Police stopped 34 year-old Andrew B. Shapiro, of Westmoreland, for a motor vehicle violation in the southbound lane of I- 91 in Springfield, reports state.
Further investigation allegedly revealed that Shapiro was in possession of a misdemeanor amount of marijuana. Shapiro was cited and released. Tester was released on conditions and was scheduled to appear in Windham District Court on Friday. Dirt bike stolen GUILDFORD State police are investigating the theft of a dirt bike from a residence on Green River Road. Sometime between midnight Sept. 7 and Friday, the red and white 1987 Yamaha TT350 dirt bike was stolen, according to police reports. The plastic fixtures on the left side are reportedly missing, and the back fender is cracked, reports add.
Anyone with any information on the bike is asked to contact the Vermont State Police in Brattleboro. Brattleboro police responded to 135 Elliot St. for a reported assault, and investigation led to the arrest of Greg Bartholomew, 46, for first-degree domestic assault, police stated. Bartholomew was held at the Brattleboro Police Department on the charge.
